Women Only Training is open to all female identities ages 13+ (our toughest participant ever was 69! )

These are super fun seminars for room mates, close friends, care givers/youth, sisters and couples to attend together!

Nobody brave enough to sign up with you? It's definitely possible to sign up solo - we will have a training partner for you!

What can I expect?

Women Only Seminars are led by an all female team of experienced Instructors! Each session will have a different focus and will include technical instruction, plenty of time to practice techniques, and lots of space for open discussion.

Each session you can expect:

- active stretching & mobility movements
- warm up drills & breakfall practice
- progressive technical drills with partners, based in muay thai and jiu jitsu
- discussion about & practice setting verbal boundaries and managing space
- discussions about situational awareness, personal safety planning, and seeking help

What the heck is muay thai & jiu jitsu?

It’s the stuff pro mma fighters practice! With the guidance of top-rate coaches, the Women of WAMMA have combined elements of both fighting styles into a technical curriculum that we believe is accessible to all fitness/skill levels from the perspective of a woman defending against a male attacker.

Muay Thai is described as the "art of eight limbs" because it allows striking with fists, elbows, knees and kicks - as well as clinch holds and trips.

Jiu Jitsu is described as the "gentle art" as it designed for smaller opponents to overcome larger stronger opponents. While jiu jitsu practice includes both standing and ground grappling, it teaches students how to effectively survive and escape take downs, trips, throws and control positions, then submit an opponent using joint locks and/or choke holds.
